Talk Description

Professor Angus Turner presents on Collaborative Care Urgency – A protocol for acute retinal conditions and glaucoma in the context of rural eyecare: How ophthalmology and optometry can work together for best patient outcomes.
Duration:
30 minutes

Synopsis: The regional workforce disparities mean that optometry and visiting ophthalmology work closely together to co-manage patients. Emergency departments refer many patients to the regional optometrist and cases will be presented to demonstrate triage and timely management provided with telehealth support. .
 
Learning Objective

  1. Retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, neovascular macular and glaucomatous conditions will be presented to hone medical diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
