Richard Johnson presents on Ophthalmic Conditions Requiring More Than Drops:  Oral Therapeutic Medications. The NZ Experience

Synopsis: This talk will present some cases of ophthalmic conditions that require oral medications to optimally therapeutically treat.  The talk will also include a review of the differential diagnoses of these conditions and a review the current evidence for oral medication agents.  Contra-indications / considerations of use of the oral medications will be discussed as well as red flags when reviewing patients with these conditions.  Finally, the level of appropriate optometric management in these cases will be considered.
