Hayley divides her time between Flinders University as a Lecturer in clinical skills and paediatrics, and community optometry with South Coast Optometrists at the southern fringe of Adelaide. 

Since 2023 she has taken on the position of Co-Chair of Optometry Australia’s of Communities of Practice and Education (COPE): a national paediatric practice group that focus on interactive, evidence-based, peer-to-peer education. And while she has traveled westwards for this weekend's conference, she would like it known that she was WA born and still considers Esperance home.
